Matt Netzel joined the Army in January 2001 until December 2010 and served as a Cavalry Scout. He is a decorated combat veteran, earning some prestigious awards throughout his career. Some of these awards include the Army Commendation Medal with Valor x2, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Purple Heart. He also holds the high honor of Drill Sergeant, where he was privileged to train the Nation’s future Warfighters. While serving in Afghanistan, Matt was wounded during combat operations, resulting in the need for numerous back surgeries, a m-TBI (mild traumatic brain injury), as well as other injuries that resulted in him being medically retired from service as a Sergeant First Class.
